Breath & Prāna

$108.00

As long as we’re alive, breath is a given. But our ability to use it well isn’t. Yoga asks, ‘What are we going to do with what we’re given?’ This course will explore how and why we choose to take responsibility for ourselves.

Prānāyāma is often translated as “breath control” or “breath practice.” We will take it a step further and see how breath is simply the tangible gateway into the intangible world of prāṇa. We will use our breath as both the metaphor and the material to practice taking full responsibility for our inner actions—which become our interactions with the “outer” world. The act of choosing and engaging with our own lives in this way is radical, empowering and liberating because it takes ownership of what is otherwise happening anyway–our breath. No more excuses. No more stuck in the “it’s always been like this” mentality. This is OUR life to live well. Yalla.

For students who have an established āsana practice and familiarity with yama & niyama. No prior prāṇāyāma experience necessary.
